Corrupted by Malmgren, Donahue, and Pusateri!
Hi! I'm a recent Clemens HS grad--in fact I graduated on June 5. I just wanted to say hello...and yes, I was corrupted by Malmgren and his free verse, Donahue and her obsession with Hawthorne, and Pusateri, who showed us videos that were quasi-porn (Did anyone see the Macbeth movie???). *laughs*

I laughed so hard I nearly cried when I saw "Buddah", by the way. The guy I'm dating (John) was the one being chased by CJ. John's currently working on an action movie about crime lords (and it involves the same samurai swords used in Eternia).

I hope to get to know some more Clemens alumni--tell me some stories about the hell you were put through. I'm all ears.

The 6th Annual Quixote Film Festival

  • Introduction

My buddy Marshall did this one. He put on a suit and acted like Clinton (he does a good impression, voice wise,) and "welcomed" us all to the film fest. Then he had to go and apparently meet an intern. Heehee.

  • Anti-Phone Sistom

(Not a typo!)
This dude John from my algebra class and some guys I don't know did this one. Fake ad for a thing that would shock prank callers. It was kind of funny. The coolest part was the graphics.

  • The First one get the worm

This was a claymation one that really sucked. Made by two blonde airheads.

  • Eternia Preview

Eternia is actually a longer film made by these guys Shane and CJ. The preview was basically all the really cool shots.

  • The Freshmen

Music video set to Verb Pipe's The Freshmen. About teenage pregnancy. Of course, the plebians I am forcibly incarcerated with did not get the point, and simply "Wooo!"ed at the sex. -_-;

  • Link

Jeff, Tryce, and two other people I don't know did this one. It was a music video and parody of Eternia set to "Legend of Zelda" by System of a Down. It was damn funny- and actually, the credits were the funniest part. Tryce set them to the Trogdor theme. I'm not kidding. The credits weren't actually credits, but clips of Jeff and this dude Kevin screwin around. And Tryce makin funny faces for the camera. Teehee, Bushface.

  • How to get Boys

More crap. Two airheads, again. A parody of a video shown last year, called "How to Get Girls." It was very cheezey. And the dubbing was terrible, so there were "GOJIRA IS COMING!" jokes made throught it.

  • Teenage Suicide

Really good docudrama about teen suicide. But, again, I am incarcirated with plebians, so they were wooping and cheering innaproprately throughout.

  • The adventures of red and blue

Funny claymation by this guy Edward. Silly, but fun.

  • Sadie Hawkins dance

Music video. The "band" wasn't even playing their instraments. Video about a guy getting asked out by a girl.

  • A Super Film About Clay

Okay, the guy Matt, that made this? Suuuuch a crackhead. In a funny way. Random crap about clay, thrown together so they could get a grade.

  • CJ's Dance

This guy CJ figured out how to do a clone effect in his moviemaker proggy, so he had a dance off with himself. Cute.

  • The Urban Male

This one isn't in the program/playbill, so I'm not sure exactly what the title was or when it aired. Marshall and Erik did this one. They went and filmed the P.E. classes for a few days, then added commentary, Discovery-channel style. It was so funny. They finished it off with shots of the guys all beating the shit out of each other (according to the disclaimer, they were prompted to do that.)

  • Cute Without the E

Another music video. About dealing with getting dumped.

  • Grady's

Ad. Kind of funny. Mostly shots of a guy licking barbecue sauce off a plate.

  • PDA Cops

Oi. This is basically just a redux of a stupid segment they made for SCTV. Three jackasses dressed like cops pretending to arrest people for PDA.

  • Don't Drink & Drive

Self-explanitory. PSA. Jeff's hand showed up for like, 30 seconds! WOO JEFF! *giggle*

  • Budda

Words cannot describe how funny this was. Ad for a (fake) product to get rid of terrorists. CJ chased John around and screamed BUUUUUUUUUDDAAAAAA! At him.

  • How To Bully

Suck. Made by the giant walking penis Christopherson.

  • Banana Rama

Kickass cartoon about monkeys. Great artwork. Soooo cute!

  • O Town

Music video. Girl got together her own boy band. Actually pretty funny.

  • The Prophet's Profit

Very, er, interesting avant garde film. I'll be honest, I didn't really get it. But it was pretty cool. Of course, I am, again, incareated with plebians, so they didn't get it and didn't care, and started TALKING during the film. -_-;

There was also a feature length version of Eternia shown afterwards. (Well, 30 mins.) I tried to watch the whole thing, but it was a little boring. And my ass was hurting.

coupla things...
1. dainichijess, Ms. Palmer rocks. She's probably deaf by now, but she's awesome anyway. Ms. Donahue is cool if you can get past her attitude, which I did by taking the first "experimental" G/T class with her my senior year. I only did English AP, though, so I'm no help in other areas.

2. paperdress, any more word from Malmgren on The Quixote being discontinued??

Uh..hi. I'm a sophomore over at Clemens right now. Got a question for those of you who took AP classes- how were the teachers? Personality wise? Cool, demanding, etc. I was on the GT classes at the elementary, middle, and junior high here, but I got out because I disliked a few of the teachers. According to what I've heard, the AP teachers aren't that bad, but I'd like to get a few more opinions first.

Hi guys. I'm a senior at Clemens and just saw this community. I had Malmgren last year for CW. I went to the first CW club meeting this year and he said he was thinking of discontinuing the Quixote because of low sales. I've been meaning to go to the other meetings to see what's up but I haven't. Maybe I will go this next week.

Anyways, I just thought I'd say that, since someone else mentioned the Quixote.

Can I make a suggestion? :)
I was just thinking, maybe you could add the surrounding towns to the list of interests for the Clemenshs community, just in case other people type in the small town they came from specifically, like cibolo, universal city, converse, randolph air force base, etc. I know in high school that I had at least a few friends that lived in these surrounding areas...eh, I don't know it was just a thought. Okay, take care all of ya'll!

September 11th memory.....
Yesterday, I was looking up prices on the internet for air fares home and just out of curiosity I typed in date of departure as Sept. 10th--from San Diego and San Antonio--$465.00 and on Sept. 11th, $240.00. Huge price difference, b/c of the anniversary of the tragedy. Can't say I blame the airlines, people are going to be apprehensive about traveling on that day--I am, but I think I'd be willing to travel on that day. It's so amazing, I still remember that day. I didn't even know the tragedy had occurred. I was on my way to base listening to Z90--who amazingly didn't report a bit of the tragedy until way later in the day. The baby was 8 months old at that time, in the backseat of the car and so asleep. So I'm approaching the main gate at Miramar and the entrance is backed all the way up about 6 miles onto Kearny Villa Rd. and I was pissed. I remember thinking, "Damn MP's, what the fuck are they doing now?". Just so you know, any Marine that is not an MP tends to dislike MP's, b/c they can be the hugest freaking assholes in the whole world. I feel like the hugest dumb ass now for thinking that--lol, but I didn't even know what was going on. So like 3 and 1/2 hrs. later I get through the gate, they have barricades set up and are searching all aspects of every single car. I show up to work thinking they were going to be mad at me and they were like--you don't know? I was like, "Know what?". One of my Corporals took me to the avionics classroom and witnessed the tragedy with my own eyes for the first time that day. I had tears in my eyes and was so upset by it all. All those poor people, and their families? How sad! And I couldn't help but think about how many Marines were in there, 'cause chances are there were some. If not in the world trade center, for sure, in the Pentagon. My prayers are so with all of them. I remember how rampant the rumors were about us going to war. My Gunny had us gather our dependent care plans--made sure all of us that had children were covered in case we did go to war. Chances are that we could still go, but all we know is everything that everyone else knows. Sometimes the media knows more than the troops know, but eh, well, I'm not going to go anymore into that. All I can really hope for is that we in the armed services do not experience any more hate from anti-war groups. That is so stupid, we serve our country proudly so that these people, citizens from our own country can attack us? I've experienced it, and so have a few of my fellow Marines, it's just ridiculous sometimes. I just hope that we can all unite to have support in the war against terrorism--b/c if we're not united, we will surely fall.
